Dave Heryet

Regional Manager, General Contractor

 

Dave Heryet, GC, JD, has more than 35 years of experience in the construction industry.  As a consultant/expert, general contractor and cost estimator, he has extensive experience in construction defect litigation and has acted as an expert witness on hundreds of litigation, property loss, bad-faith, personal injury and other projects in behalf of owners, developers, general contractors, architects, material suppliers, sub-contractors and insurance carriers. Dave has coordinated and authored numerous defense responses and performed frequent liability allocations. He has inspected, photographed and documented the conditions of thousands of residential units and has observed, directed and performed a variety of water and destructive testing procedures.

 

Mr. Heryet has performed detailed construction cost estimating for both construction defect and property loss projects, including schools, apartments, condominiums, single-family residences and commercial buildings. He has reviewed and evaluated hundreds of construction estimates and has experience on chain of custody, standard of care, and construction claims issues. He has testified as an expert witness in over one hundred mediations, provided deposition testimony over sixty times, and has testified at trial on more than ten occasions.

 

Mr. Heryet received his B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a J.D. from John F. Kennedy University in Walnut Creek.  He is a licensed general contractor in California and Nevada, and an active member of the California State Bar Association.

 

As a non-profit board member, Mr. Heryet has been the vice-chairperson of a community health center for fifteen years and has served on various committees, including executive, compensation, litigation, CEO interview/employment, RFQ review, land acquisition and construction, and risk/quality assurance.
